Nobody seems to know the answer to this question. I have 3 AP’s which are Psychology, US History, and English Language and Composition. I am for sure dropping Language, but I am also having issues with US, and I am slightly considering on dropping it. I currently have an F in Lang and a D in US but I may bring it up to a C which I am not sure. Anyways, CAN I DROP 2 AP CLASSES?
Also: all these AP classes have me stressed a lot, and have somewhat considerably put me in a constant depressive mood and inability to sleep at times.
Each school has there own individual policy on dropping classes, so you’ll need to speak to a guidance councilor. At my school, you can drop an AP class going from 1st semester to 2nd semester, but you need to get a form signed by both your teacher and your parents and turn it in before the end of the semester. It may or may not be the same with yours.
1° Talk to your guidance counselor. If s/he advised you not to take so many, start by recognizing they were right - eating crow will help you if dropping two classes is exceptional.
2° What would you drop down to? I’d recommend to stay in English Honors and, if at all possible, in US History honors too. If you can only have one of these two “honors”, choose English honors.
3° Talk to your APUSH teacher. Say you’re struggling so much you’re thinking of switching to US Honors. What can s/he advise about it?
