Hello, I did track freshman and sophomore year. The problem is, I hated track. I am a musician, and even although I cannot play piano for the orchestra in my school, or participate in many extra curricular activities in high school regarding piano, I still love to practice at home, and even compose music. Track is taking that away from me but it looks better on the EC transcript for colleges.
The only other extracurriculars I have are:
President of a club in my school
Volunteering hours (34 hours so far)
Played in talent shows/coffee house
Performed in composer night
Was the mascot for a parade for my job (this one may not count).
Also, I may be inducted to join the Music Honors Society this year, and I am planning to join Jazz band as a senior, which both may help strengthen my application for music.
Idk, I really hate track, and I don’t want anything to do with it anymore.
Im taking AP Music Theory as a junior. I will state that im not only a performer, but a composer. Hence I performed in our schools composer night, which is performing an original composition. (Most of the audience were musicians). How does that sound? My plan is to take AP theory next year, than Honors Jazz band as a senior. I prefer to take a class in composing rather than perform in jazz AT THE MOMENT. Thanks!
Hmm well the club I run is involved with music. I can ask my piano teacher if there ar EC i can do for piano. Cuz i got rejected from orchestra because there are no piano spots.
A friend of my daughter’s organized a series of concerts at senior homes. Many have pianos in their lobby. The concerts featured her and other performers. It was a huge hit with the seniors, she got to show off her original music and practice her performance skills.
