I'm looking at my finical aid options for next fall and I'm a little confused. I currently live in Pennsylvania, but plan to attend school in Michigan. Can I apply for state grants for both states or only Pennsylvania?

State aid is for in state schools, and you have to have spent over a year as a resident of a state to get state aid there. Pennsylvania won’t give you aid for a Michigan school, and Michigan won’t give you aid because you are a resident of Pennsylvania. You cannot get any state aid.

Not sure what you mean!

If you are applying to colleges in Michigan and Pennsylvania, you would submit your FAFSA to all schools you are applying to. The schools could award you grants in your financial aid package from the school.

However, if you are looking at state funded grants for residents OF the state…the only ones you would be eligible for are in PA.
