Hey guys. My names Ishraq and I'm a new member here. Okay, so currently I am taking IB Psychology SL in my high school, and I'm about to give the IB exam this May. I'm doing well in that class, have an A. I want to take AP Psychology but my high school doesn't offer it. So self studying is my only option. So I was wondering what you guys think I should do or CAN DO ... can I get a 5 by self studying from the Barron's next year? If yes, would you suggest rather this year (I have just over 2 months left) ?

I honestly don’t know why IB Psychology Sl even exists…

Why is that? Please elaborate

Get Barron’s, study it thoroughly, and you get a 5. You could do that in 2 months. That’s what my friend did. I don’t know the standards of IB Psychology, but I assume it’s approximately college level enough that you know half or most of the material of AP.

IB Psychology Sl probably takes the same pace as an AP Psych class (perhaps somewhat slower?), but it follows the IB Curriculum and it is a two-year course and Universities/Colleges don’t take Sl subjects for IB.

See why now?

IB Psychology SL is a one year course. HL might be two years, I’m not really sure but SL is a year long. I asked my IB Psych teacher today and he said that considering I have 2 more AP’s, if I can manage time studying for AP Psych then its fine, otherwise not. But I was hoping I could get advice from real AP Psych students here :(

Do what Jerry said. Many friends of mine got 5’s by just studying a study book. You have experience with Psychology, so you are in a good position.
