Can I get accepted into Cornell

I’m starting my junior year this upcoming school year and I was just wondering about my chances.
UW GPA- 95.00
Weighted GPA- 100.83
AP’s: I took AP World my sophomore year. I’m taking AP Chem, AP US, and AP Language this upcoming year. Senior year I’ll be taking AP Calculus, AP Lit, AP Euro, AP Bio.
I haven’t taken the SAT or ACT yet but on the PSAT I got in the 95th percentile.
ExtraCurriculurs- Tennis team for my school for 3 years, tennis outside of my school for 5 years. Drama club/stagecrew for 4 years. Ive been in a chorus for 4 years. We have performed at Yankees games and other sporting events and also smaller events. I’m an editor for my school newspaper. I’m also a tutor at my school. I’m also a part of an aspiring medical professionals club.
Volunteer Work- I’ve completed about 160 hours of community service at the same two places.
Work Experience- I have worked at a pool for 2 summers and an animal shelter for 2 years.

Thanks for any feedback!

Your classes look fine, as do your grades. Your extracurriculars may need a little bit more, like a national/maybe regional ranking. How does your tennis team place? Cornell, and like colleges, receive thousands of qualified applicants. Really work on your essays!

What is your rank at your school? A 95 gpa at one school is every different from a 95 at another school. Also 95% for PSAT is really not gonna cut it. You need to get in the top 1% for ACT and SAT becuase Cornell is looking for the 1%. Your classes look pretty good considering how many AP’s you’re taking. The biggest problem with your extracurriculars is that I really can’t tell what you are especially interested in and want to potentially major in. Colleges, especially prestigious ones like Cornell want to see passion and interest in their applicants both on the pages and off.

I’m In the top 5 out of 130 in my class. I want to go into the medical field, including Veterinary Medicine, or journalism. My school doesn’t really offer too much that I’m interested in so do you have any suggestions for activities I could partake in. Thanks so much for your help

5/130 is pretty good. Your interest with aspiring medical professionals club will show colleges. Are your volunteer hours from hospitals? Your work in the animal shelter will be good for Vet school, try to get a strong letter of rec from the shelter.

also are you Editor in Chief for your newspaper? Or will you be able to assume that role by senior year, leadership positions in your field really attracts college’s attentions

Well one of the places I volunteer at I work with horses and disabled kids and we help them how to ride. I’m probably going to go to in the Veterinary direction because it’s been my dream since I was like 5.

Basically every club/sport in my school only gives seniors the leadership roles so by senior year I should definitely be Editor in Chief.

ok then I would say your extracurriculars are a pretty good indication for your interested major. Keep working at it and good luck!

Ok thanks so much for your help I really appreciate it!

Also I’ve seen a lot of people mention their ethnicity so I just wanted to let anyone who answers know I’m Latino.

I would add some shadowing experience with a veterinarian. That can really solidify if that is what you actually want to do and looks good on the resume.
