Can I get an internship without prior work experience??

I have worked in my life I mean, for 6 months as a cashier/cleaning at McDonald's in high school.

Since I am going to be a Computer Science major though, and the point of an internship is to GET work experience, does it even matter if I work in the summers before that? Next summer I will be doing a summer semester, so I can't :/

For this field it's not like any menial job I get can be applied to it anyway..and I'm not looking to make pocket money either.
I would do the internship after 2 years of college and taking mostly classes for my major.

Am I better just waiting it out, and doing better things (read literature and self-study some basic terms in computer science) with my summer then scrape together small money that I will make with a good salary once I get out of college?

You can get a internship without prior experience. That is what an internship is for. It is a means for you to get experience. Sometimes it can lead to a full time position. But, do not wait until after college. Do it, while you are in college. The earlier you can start networking, the better.

It is better to have irrelevant work experience than no experience at all. A company can teach you specific skills, but they cannot teach you work ethic. You can show companies that you are not lazy by having work experience, even if that has no bearing on your day to day experience at your full time job
