<p>I'm middle class so I'm in that awkward in-between where I don't know if I'll get financial need-based aid or not at the highly selective schools I'm looking at. For example, Pomona, Amherst, Williams, Haverford - or places like Dartmouth, Brown, and UPenn. Personal experiences welcome or figures/statistics that are reliable are welcome.
If not, I'll have to focus more on my safety schools and getting merit aid there, but I'd prefer to aim higher.

<p>You should use the net price calculators at each of the schools you are applying to. Schools that promise to meet full need will likely have better financial aid options than schools that don’t. <p>Middle class is hard to define. Some high income folks call themselves middle class. Some middle class people have a lot of assets.</p>
<p>Have your parents run the NPCs and see if they’re affordable.</p>
<p>But since those schools are hard to get into, also apply to some safeties with big merit.</p>
