Can i get financial aid based on my resume?

I am a high school junior (Berkeley is my dream school). I have a 2350 SAT score, ~4.2 weighted GPA, 4.0 without. i have quite a few extra curriculars and am pretty good at them (top few in the US), and I am about top 3% of my class. I live in ca, btw. Can I get into berkeley, and if so, do i have a chance of getting a scholarship/financial aid?

You’ve good chance to get admitted.
Estimate your cost with its NPC [Financial Aid Estimator - UC Berkeley Financial Aid and Scholarships Office](<a href=“Financial Aid Estimator - UC Berkeley Financial Aid and Scholarships Office”>http://calculator.berkeley.edu/)

Test Scores – 25th / 75th Percentile
SAT Critical Reading: 600 / 730
SAT Math: 630 / 760
SAT Writing: 610 / 740

Percentage of New Students Receiving Aid: 66%
Berkeley Scholarships (■■■■■■■■■■)
Percentage of New Students Receiving Types of Aid
Grants: 56%
Loans: 29%
Average Amount of Aid
Grants: $15,272
Loans: $5,401

Are you looking for need based aid? If so, that is totally dependent on your family income and assets.

If you are looking for merit aid…I believe Berkeley has a limited number of highly competitive merit awards. Check their website.

Cal gives good need-based aid…do you qualify?

As for Regents Scholarships…if I remember correctly, at Cal, you have to demonstrate a good bit of “need” to get a Regents scholarship that is larger than (I think) $1,000.

However, some of the mid-tier UCs do have generous Regent scholarships for very high stats.

What is your issue? Are you concerned that you don’t qualify for need-based aid, so you’re looking for merit based aid?

i think i may have to apply for merit based scholarships, not need-based.

Then Berkeley isn’t the school you want to look at. If you have no financial need, the largest scholarship award you can get is Regent’s for $2500; the very top schools rarely offer merit-based scholarships, since they don’t need to do anything special to attract the best students.

With your stats you would probably win a 1/2 tuition scholarship at USC . [If you score above the Calif PSAT cutoff score next month, then you would be awarded an automatic 1/2 Tuition scholarship at USC. ]
With your stats, you should also make it a point to apply to USC by their Dec 1 deadline next year, in order to be eligible for one of their 140 full tuition scholarships. There are also dozens of other U’s that will offer you full rides if your are a NMSF. So do well on the PSAT next month- It can open the doors to a lot of $$$$.
