I have a 33 ACT and a 3.94 GPA. I'm in 3 AP classes (bio, Chem, and us gov.) I am in quiz bowl and national honor society. I work on a farm and also own 12 beef cattle. I show at the fair and do FFA and 4-h. Im a girl from a small michigan town. What are my chances of getting in and if I do what type of scholarship could I receive? And I good enough for Banneker/key?

Your stats are strong, but there are other variables. Are you a junior or senior? If you applied this year, know that only early applicants (those who applied before Nov.15) qualify for merit aid. Thus, if you applied after, you would not qualify for the Banneker/Key scholarship.

I would say that you could easily be accepted, but there are many other applicants with similar stats, so there’s really no way to know for sure.

That Priority Deadline is November 1, not November 15. [University of Maryland - Freshman Application Deadlines](http://www.admissions.umd.edu/apply/freshmanDeadline.cfm)

Kaitlyn, I’m assuming you’re a junior. On the face of it, you’re a strong candidate. If that’s your unweighted GPA, you would certainly be competitive for B/K, and likely to be offered some other significant merit award if not B/K. But no merit aid will be possible at all if you don’t apply by November 1. (See the link above.)

I’m a junior. I’m going to visit there on spring break and I’m very excited. Do you guys know how large the campus feels? I know it’s a big place but do you think you’re more of a number or a name?
