Hi everyone, I’m applying for engineering. I am a white male from NC. I have a UW GPA of 3.86, and a WGPA of 4.30. I have taken 9 AP’s. This year I am taking Calc AB and Chem which I know are important for engineering. My sat score is 1400 with a 700 on both math and reading. I participated in a sport for all 4 years and got all conference twice. I also play tournaments for that sports year round. I am in NHS and have a done a little volunteering. With all that being said, do I have a good chance? Thanks
There’s really nothing that USC offers that you can’t already get at NCSU for a fraction of the cost.
@ap1412 South Carolina ain’t Duke or UNC Chapel Hill. You’ll be accepted. No sweat.
I know, but I am starting to think I won’t be accepted to NCSU for engineering, for engineering at least.
@ap1412 , in regards to NCSU engineering, it may come down to what county you are from. Your scores are good, but highly competitive counties like Wake or Meck. may make it more difficult. My son got in ChemE with a 1380, but his Math was 760 and we are in a rural area. Concerning USC, your scores should get you financial assistance to help make up the cost difference for being OOS.
