sure it's tougher, but you guys get it easy in terms of LIFE, and what you have outside the academic arena. Some of us come from some pretty rough schools and just haven't had the opportunities to perform because of where we live, the people we're around, or the lack of money to get services like tutoring for the SAT, tutoring in general. You have been given one hell of an opportunity - you best be doing perfect.

SOrry...yeh...i am thankful for all the oppurtunities given to me......
BUT we are not perfect beacuse everyone has the same oppurtunities at my school.....everyone has private tutors......but the teachers have to make tests harder than actual ap exams so they can give out some b's and c's and possible d.

i guess its all perspective :)

AND your user name is mvsenior
hahhahahha

I wouldn't worry too much. I'm sure they'll acknowledge that you go to a difficult school. They're not idiots you know.

Hi, I just recently graduated from Monta Vista High School (class of 2008)
I got into UCLA as Electrical Engineer major with:
3.5 unweighted gpa
2170 sat I
800 sat 2 math
790 sat 2 physics

i was surprised when i read that the avg gpa for an incoming freshman was around 4.3

@ frencharmy

That's because most schools in California aren't too difficult, unlike the ones in Silicon Valley.

Doesn't Monta Vista High School have an average SAT of ~2100?

Flopsy:
That's not true. It's more like 1950-2000ish. People from Monta Vista aren't all that smart. Everyone is just try-mode on all the time.

AP's are a joke to MV students though.
