Howdy everyone new kid here. Ok, so I just found out theres a SLIGHT chance I'm related to some really rich old lady who could MAYBE help me get into Yale. I'd have no problem applying except for 2 things. 1 my teacher and counselor recs arent sent in, and wont be sent in till a week past the date at the soonest and 2 Its unclear if this woman can/will help me. Should I still apply? Im not sure Im Yale quality anyway

GPA: 3.65 uweighted, 4.1 weighted
ACT: 33
Pretty decent extra ciriculars and essays, but nothing that would sent an admissions officer into shock.

Advice greatly appreciated! Thanks yall

Being simply related to some random relative will not help, unless she has some insane title (think President, some Congress person, famous CEO, the Queen… etc).

Unless she is willing to donate millions, yes millions of dollars (aka enough for a new building or something lol) with the stipulation that you will be admitted, then the chance is very minimal that she would be any help to you.

Otherwise, you’d probably have as much of a chance as any applicant, which is not much since the admit rate is 5%. It depends on what type of EC’s you have, though your GPA is really on the low side. Lol, sorry for my bluntness and good luck
