I frequently hike and rock climb
I take an entreupeneurs class every Saturday

I wrote great essays also
And my interview went great!

I know I have a lot to offer a school, and I hope my SSAT scores doesn't bring that down

Please be as harsh as possible, I want to know if I really have a chance

am i the only one shocked that this person made the username "Middlesex" not even a month ago???

i thought for sure someone had that name for years, the way we'd expect someone to have a "choate" or "hotchkiss" id...

anyways, middlesex has a unique acceptance "system." it focuses less on academic achievement, but rather what YOU are. im sure people who have had no extracurriculars, but were the nicest people in their school or loved to do nerdy things like research about black holes, have gotten into middlesex. it's like stanford's way, I guess. of course they have to know you're academically qualified because they really wouldn't like to kick you out, but rather than proving you're a fit candidate the way you do for many other schools as well, you have to prove how much you love mx.

We liked MX also and got the impression that the interview was a significant factor. From our conversations, the SSAT score didn't have nearly the importance as a student's personality and a demonstrated willingness to participate and contribute to a small campus atmosphere.

From the looks of your track record of "participating", you have a great chance at MX!

We are hoping to have good news on the 10th also! :)

if you are taking all high school classes, what's even the point of being in 8th grade? I mean, you might as well be with the people you are in class with.

@starz27: some schools place by ability not age so you can be technically in 8th grade by chronological age but be in all 10th grade classes. This is the case with S's charter school - he is an 8th grader taking 10th grade level courses. Noone really cares who is in which grade chronologically at his school , only who is in their classes.

I visited Middlesex but decided not to apply...
I also got the impression that the interview is a huge factor. I think the SSATs will be overshadowed with all of your motivated activities.
About the SSATs...Middlesex's average is 86. There's sure to be a couple of kids with scores in the high 90's...perfect to average out a well-rounded student like yourself!

I'm not sure why, but Middlesex is the only school I know of that notifies students BEFORE March 10. Perhaps I'm wrong.

They said that their policy is to refrain from contacting students (I'm VERY sure this was about decisions, not just calling the student as a recruiting coach) until March 5th. And the decisions are online.

I love Middlesex to death!!! Don't get me started on it, cuz I can talk for HOURS about it. Perfect size. Beautiful Campus. Great academics, arts, and athletics. I can go on and on.

People have praised Middlesex as the "hidden jem of the boarding schools." It is comparable to A/E/SPS/D/H.

Don't worry MIDDLESEX. The SSAT are of little significance. Middlesex is more interesting in having a student body that is kind, caring, interested, friendly, intellectually curious, ect.

You seem to be extremely well rounded except that you don't athletically participate.
