Can I get in to the college of business?

I hope to get into the college of business with these stats:

ACT:32
GPA unwieghted: 4.0 wieghted 4.21 Class rank: 29/334

I am from India. I speak 2 languages other than english at home. I serve as the vice president of my school's NHS chapter. I am very involved with school stuff. I am taking 3 APs this year, and took 3 APs last year.

I would appreciate any comments. Im just very nervous that 'deferred: manual blah blah' will result in being denyed for me.

You have a very good chance. UIUC evaluates for admission out-of-state and international applicants on the same basis as in-state applicants and your stats place you above average for those usually admitted. However, UIUC does not provide any need-based financial aid to internationals and internationals need to verify as part of their application process that they can can afford the costs, which I assume you have done.

As to deferred: manual review, it means you were not automatically admitted by the computer. High level applicants/easy admits can be admitted by the computer based on ACT and class rank criteria provided by each college. Rest (majority) go to manual review (meaning a human being will review your file for admission) and majority of those eventually get admitted although it can be anywhere from a couple of weeks to late January before you find out. For college of business, going to manual review is essentially automatic since that college usually either does not allow automatic admit by the computer or sets the criteria so high that few can be admitted that way.

Ah, I see. Well now things are much clearer, thank you for your help.

You will probably get in.

Gah...it takes wayyy to long...its been two weeks and im starting to go craazy!...both my friends who applied to ENG got iin after like 2 weeks...and they had same stats as i did.....arg...rage to BUS.
