Can I get in?

<p>Ok so I'm currently a junior, but I want to know if I stand a chance. Please give your honest opinions!</p>

<p>So I go to one of the top public high schools in California, and I'm white- so I'm not diverse :(</p>

<p>ACT: 32
GPA (unweighted): 3.65
GPA (weighted): 4.0</p>

<p>Including what I'm taking senior year I have/ will have taken:
2 Honors
7 AP's (1 soph, 3 junior, 3 senior)</p>

<p>I've played club softball for 7 years and JV Softball for 1 year.
I've been involved in the National Charity League for 6 years (including senior year) through which i've done many hours of community service.
At school, I'm in multiple clubs- Interact (com. service club), Best Buddies (special ed kids), and the Harry Potter Alliance (which I started just for fun!)
I've been a counselor at a summer camp for kids with autism for 2 years (and it was amazing!)
I went to Washington DC with the Close-Up Program (apparently colleges look highly upon it)</p>

<p>Here's some extra things that probably won't make a huge difference, but might help:
- I overcame this severe social phobia disorder as a child called Selective Mutism, so it could be a good topic for an essay about overcoming adversity :P
- I can pay full tuition (though i know colleges are not supposed to admit people on that)
- I know of one teacher who will write me the best recommendation letter EVER.</p>

<p>take the SAT</p>

<p>you’ll probably get in though…I’m a colgate sophomore (disregard username) and my ACT was higher than yours but I had a much lower gpa</p>

<p>My son applied this year, with SATs in the low 700s and got in. I agree that you should also take the SAT – you have nothing to lose: if your equivalent score to the ACT is lower than 32, you don’t submit, but if you score higher, you do submit. My son initially took the ACT, and couldn’t score in the 30s. He then took the SAT and did much better.</p>

<p>yes, especially early decision</p>

<p>One of my kids applied, and was accepted, with the same grades and ACT score as you. If you know that Colgate is the place for you, apply early decision, take an interview to express your interest, and go for it! You should get in.</p>
