OTHER

 • I can speak 5 languages (English, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, French) my family’s from all over the globe
 • I think my essays will be very good since my writing style is simple, but highly personal
 • I do believe my rec’s will be pretty good since I know two teachers very well and have even personally expressed to me that they would be highly interested to write for me

CONCLUSION

 • So after all this, I have to say I absolutely loved Brown, the atmosphere, the students, the professors and I felt as if I could really belong
 • The campus is so pretty! yep, i am such a girl
 • But the main reason I chose Brown is because to be honest with you I have NO IDEA what I want to be. I could go into medicine just as easily as I could go into business and finance and I have even considered International Relations and Politics so Brown appealed to me with its “no-curriculum” policy and its excellent reputation in anyone of these subjects.

THANKS FOR READING THIS LONG THING, PLEASE BE HONEST, TELL ME IF I CAN IMPROVE, AND THANK YOU GUYS AGAIN!!!

you would have a good chance anywhere

Yeah, honestly.. You're awesome.
I bet you could get into Brown.
I wish my ECs were as strong as yours!

Yes, I think you have an above average chance, especially if you apply ED.

thanks guys! is there anything i can improve? i still have like half a year! i was thinking about re-taking my SAT's but I really don't want to do that again...i hate tests. anyone have any other ideas for improvement to be safer?

You have about a 16% chance just like everyone else. What makes you stand out?

one suggestion....You may want to try talking to the Brown women's golf coach to see if you can be recruited...

mhalp, i think i'm pretty well rounded and that was my concern of getting in. is there anything i should work on?

you are very well rounded!!!. do u hav u.s. citizenship? if you do, i'd say u have about 90% chance.

Your stats are already pretty amazing. Being hispanic cements the deal, in my opinion.

I agree ^

2250 + Hispanic + Speaks 5 Languages = Brown

I think anyone who speaks 5 languages, whether Hispanic or White or an alien from Mars, has a good chance at gaining admissions to a prestigious school (provided they have a good academic record and speak all 5 languages fairly well). I don't think URM status would really add much beyond the already amazing package!

peaceoutdawg, no i'm not a citizen but I am a permanent resident. i guess what I was trying to ask was if being hispanic and coming from a different background would help or hurt me. i guess i got my answer. thanks guys and good luck with your application processes! u guys are so much better than my counselor :/

If you're a permanent resident you would count as being URM, so it will definitely not hurt your application. Good luck!

why are you even asking this question?! OF COURSE you have a solid chance at being admitted.

i wasn't sure if my unweighted GPA was high enough and not sure if being hispanic would help or hurt me

Being Hispanic (an under-represented minority) will definitely not hurt you, and it will probably help you, not just at Brown, but wherever you apply.

You could always throw an ACT in there. I sort of agree with MHalp (though not that low), you're above 16% because your stats are above average, but I don't know if there's anything that's going to really, really stand out and make you a shoo-in. Definitely talk to the golf coach. If he has any interest in you playing, he'll tell the admissions office and they'll have no problem letting you in with those stats.
