I have a 3.5 average right now in my junior year. I am ranked 99 out of 375 in my class. I took my sat but did not do so well and I’m taking a another one. If I get a good sat score do I have a chance of getting in. Also I love with my mom and she doesn’t make that much money can AU cover my whole tuition
I don’t know your chances of getting in, but wanted to also suggest trying the ACT test. Some do much better on that test compared to the SAT. Just sometimes depends on the person. Good luck!
If you look at American University’s Admissions web page for freshman (first year) applicants, you’ll see that this university is test optional. You will also see that under the Fall 2016 Admitted Student Profile, the GPA middle 50% is 3.48-4.00.
This data does not appear there, but their admit rate for 2016 applicants dropped to 25.6%, with a record number of applicants. 89% of those applying Early Decision were accepted, while about 23% of Regular Decision applicants were accepted.
You can also find Financial Aid information on their website. Most High School Guidance Offices and public libraries have reference books available with this information, too.
Try the Net Price Calculator on American’s website to get a rough idea of how much FA you can get.
