oook...so not so stellar gpa...like it's embarassing mentioning it, but it has alot to do with my newly found learning disability....umm but i attend one of the top high schools in the country...very well known in the college world(it's a private school)...everyone who goes there goes to an ivy or standford...its well respected...i also play competitive softball for a very good team...i know it's a BIG reach for me to get in, but i'm really wondering how big of a reach it is....and i haven't taken the SATs yet, and i'm planning on taking the math I satII and the english satIII and (maybe) the spanish satII i will also have one AP this year...which is english...but it's known that going to my school is VERY hard and like getting a C at my school is basically the equivalent to an A at almost any public school...my school doesn't rank and doesn't weight gpas either so tell me my chances...emory is like one of my top choices even though they have D-3 sports!!!

uh standford = stanford
english satIII = english satII
i also don't think that getting a C in a private school can be equivalent to an A in a public school.

um aatually, it basically is...my school is kind of crazy.

um my gpa (for the year) is like high 2/low 3...i also forgot to mention that i am (going to be) a 4 year varsity softball and 2 year varsity fh as well...and i also have been working REALLY hard this year. there were a couple of bumps (my english teacher HATED the way i wrote and i got a C...which in all my hs years is VERY uncommon isince i have gotten like a/b grade in the past two years), but this is definately my best year....i also have high hopes for the SAT...i do really well in reading, decent (or less) in math and ok in writing...i am also a good essay writer.

Know which tests you're taking (there's no such thing as an SAT III), work hard to raise your GPA (a C is a C, even at a private school), and don't write like that in your college essays. My two cents...

i ment sat II and you know it...and you honestly wouldn't be saying that "a c is a c thing" if you actually knew my school, it's not just another private school.

and my GPA is increasing so i am working on that....

Without SATs and a definite GPA, what would normally be a vague estimate becomes a complete guessing game. It's nearly impossible to say without those two numbers.

yeah what private school do you go to? Maybe if you went to a very prestigious, well known high school then I would mistaken the part of a C. But really there is no difference between a C, because as dangnguyen said a C is a C.

Just keep trying your best and work on getting everything ready for your applications. You do not have to denigrate the rest of us by telling us your C is an A anywhere else. You can just leave it the fact you go to a very competitive private school.
