Can I get in?

Rising senior for next year,

GPA is about 3.8uw and rank is ~10/400 at a pretty good public high school that annually sends students to top schools.... last year 3 out of 6 who applied to Georgetown were accepted with 2 enrolling

Pretty much the hardest course load available with 5 APs next year, have only taken 2 APs

SAT- (superscored) - 1480/1600 and 2190/2400.... Math 800, CR 680, W 710, will try to improve reading for Fall SAT

SAT II- 800 US history, 780 World History, 770 Math I, 760 Math II, 660 Bio M... nothing but the top three count right?

AP- US 5, Bio 5

EC-
-Quiz Bowl (competed at nationals)
-newspaper staff
-Model UN (1 of 4 chosen to represent the school at a University hosted model UN)
-art studio
-200 hr. volunteering at museum
-30 hr. volunteering at another museum
-16 hr. volunteering for answering little kids' Santa letters
-Delta Epsilon Phi
-Youth group
-New England Math League
-Math Team

Talents? (I wouldn't even mention otherwise but I saw on the app there is a section for this... would it count?)
-voted most artistic coming out of middle school, best in show award for ceramics, won contest to design school booklet

Awards/others- can't find a section to put this but maybe I can write in them in the essays:
-Congress Bundestag semi finalist
-moved around about 6 times in the last 10 years
-Kodak Young Leaders Award
-served as a guide and translator for a foreign exchange teacher
-some travel experience

Maybe a major in Government at the College? or International Business at MSB? I'll probably apply early action although it looks like it confers no advantage.

Are you the leader of any of the clubs you listed? That would make a large impact on whether you can get accepted. Your class rank is inline, and your SAT scores are within the range. You have volunteered a lot - which is nice - but a lot of kids do that. A little more specifics on the role you play in Quiz Bowl and Newspaper would help.

(What national tournament were you at? I was at the NAQT finals in Chicago this year).

Well almost nothing I've listed offers any leadership positions. German NHS has nothing (I was 1 of 2 people in my class to get in.. and the other one was a native German speaker), none of the math ones have anything. I was secretary general of the model UN if you can count that. Our Quiz Bowl team went to NAC in Orlando, the closest thing we have to leadership is a captain and we even take turns with that. The only real position is for the newspaper and, regrettably (I didn't join in Freshman year) I am not the editor.
