Can I get in

Hello I just recently applied to Pittsburgh, heres my stats. let me know what you think

Major: Environmental Studies
Sex: Male
Race: Caucasian

GPA: 3.72 (9-11)
SATs- 1510/2400 (feel like thats gonna kill me)
Rank: not sure the exact number but its top 25%

9 Honors classes and 1 AP class. I might take the AP environmental science exam and the AP US Gov't and Politics one

I have 3 recommendations sent in (1 from a graduate from Pittsburgh, 1 from my graduation exit project teacher, and one from my guidance counselor)

I have done EC's like Varsity soccer, managed soccer, varsity club, debate club, club soccer, freshman basketball, ultimate frisbee club, student government all in school

Volunteered at SPCA, barack obama offices, Cancer bike ride, and my cities aging agency

I know my SATs will hurt but I think that I am pretty strong academically to be accepted, what do you think.

bump please help

I think your SAT scores put you in the borderline category. Why did you wait so late to apply? Are you a transfer?

no, see i waited so long because i got accepted into James Madison University and psu, and i was pretty sure i was gonna go to JMU. I am from PA so the more I thought about it and the money of JMU i figured I could get the same education at Pitt. I had the SAt scores sent in a long time ago and my application was done for about 3 months, but i never sent it because i figuured jmu was it, but i just hate the idea of being in 90,000 debt coming out of college.

bump, be honest, is the environmental studies program popular or hard to get into?

also i sent in 3 essays

I had similar stats but not as many EC’s and they sent me to Bradford. My major is Biomedical Engineering though.

yeah your major is tough, i also chose to start in the summer of 2009, so i dont know if that will effect it. i basically made it sound apparent that if accepted i would go to Pitt main

bump, does choosing summer 2009 help to?

When did you apply, Pitt operates on a rolling admissions schedule, the earlier you apply the better chance you have of getting in!

it was late
