For admissions to a lot of American universities, especially the top ones, standardized tests like the SATs are just one part of the application. Schools here are looking for diversity in applicants. For instance, the essay is one of the most crucial parts of your application. A lot of people have good SAT scores...the tie-breaker is presenting yourself as a well rounded person with goals and interests. Some schools have interviews and stuff like that for this reason. This goes as well for not only admissions but financial aid.

How does each colleges select ..depending upon the essay ??..i mean if you have high SAT marks why wont they select

reply me anyone.

Your SAT scores are only ONE factor. Other factors include your grades, outside school activities (extracurriculars), the essay, an interview, and community service wouldn't hurt you at all. It's more than just high scores here in the US (because a bunch of people have them). It's about the whole person.

But obviously, since at most schools aid for international students is limited, the greatest amount is going to go to the ones with the best overall application, including very high SAT scores and grades.

Ok..Thank you
