Can I get into a CSU with a D in Algebra 2?

Hello! I’m a Junior in high school and am currently taking Algebra 2. Last semester I ended up with a D in the class, and it looks like I’m heading towards another this semester. This has been making me very anxious because I understand this could prevent me from getting into the CSU of my choice. I’ve been looking online to see exactly what this grade means for me, but have been receiving a lot of mixed answers. I found questions similar to mine on this site and decided to give it a shot. Some other information that may or may not be relevant to my question is that, I want to major in English, I’ve never gotten another D or an F in another class, my grades are mostly A’s, and I am trying to get into Humboldt State University. All help is appreciated, thank you so much!

For CSUs and UCs, you need a C or higher in the second semester of algebra 2 to validate the first semester, or a C or higher in a more advanced math course to validate algebra 2, for a-g subject requirements.

The D will still affect your GPA unless you repeat it for a higher grade.

Okay, that’s what I had originally thought. Thank you!
