Can I get into A&M

Hi,
I am in the top 15% of my class, have a 1360 SAT, 2 internships, a job as a Math instructor, and leadership positions(3), my question is can I get into A&M college station into the Biomedical Sciences program even if I am not Auto admit(I know that A&M is very competitive if you are not Auto admit)

thank you

Sure you can. Will you ? Apply and find out.

Please will someone answer

This is really important to me

No one can answer you but A&M.

How old are you ? Where do you live ? Which two internships? What math class do you instruct ?

Are you in state or OOS? What’s your class rank, not just %. SAT needs to be higher, like 1450 range, I’d suggest retaking. What about ACT?
Have you taken official A&M tour? Attended Aggieland Saturday? Met with an A&M rep? They definitely make note of potential students who show interest.

I am in state, I will be taking the SAT again but I heard that was above average, my class rank is 139/925, but my high school is really competitive I don’t know if that matters

And I am taking a tour next week

I plan for it to go up though because most of the people I know did really bad junior year, but I did better

So you’re a math instructor - for what?

Don’t forget - don’t have a dream school. Period. End of story.

If you don’t get into A&M, then you’ll study somewhere else.

And guess what, you’ll learn the same things and have a chance at the same life.

You’re already going down the wrong path of desperation for a dream school where your #s are not there.

Stop it now. Find some others - A&M will be your reach and you need targets and safeties and you can excel at all.

Nearly all applicants are from ‘competitive high schools’. Based on current accepted applicants for class of 2027, your scores/stats wouldn’t get you direct admit (perhaps Blinn TEAM or PSA offer).
You will definitely need a higher SAT (1450) and/or 33+ ACT, for consideration. Have you taken the ACT?
Finish strong, hopefully your rank will get slightly higher.
Be ready to apply August 1. That means you should’ve already asked teachers for letters of recommendation.
Definitely apply to ‘safety’ schools, ones that you have the scores to automatically get acceptance.
Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Many, many great public & private schools in Texas!

Wait hold on, an a guidance counselor for A&M said that my class rank was above average and as I said before I do expect it to go up by maybe 2 percent, there are lots of people from the class of 2027 that I know that got in even without my Stats, also the SAT score is in the average range, where are you getting your information

You won’t be auto admit, if not Top 10%.
Follow the current Class of ‘27 CC thread, you’ll see the numbers.

I’m not saying you won’t get in-it’ll depend on how many with higher stats apply-and you’re also wanting a very rigorous, competitive major.

What’s your SAT breakdown? What are the highest math & science courses taken so far? All this plays a big factor, too.

I’ve been following CC since 2019. In that time, the stats-across the board-have only gotten higher & higher. You have good stats…but not a slam dunk for admission. You asked, you’re getting honest answers.

Sorry for the confusion, I know I wasn’t Auto Admit, I was just wondering if this put me in a good spot, or in other words if this was at least above average because I know the acceptance rate is really high, and it seemed like most people even with a lower class rank, GPA, and SAT score got in

What majors were they admitted to? What math & science classes did they take, if STEM majors?
Have you taken AP? Dual Credit?

This is for Biomedical sciences major by the way I plan on going to med school, and I already have the recommendation letters and essays written I am just waiting on the transcripts from my school to come out, SAT breakdown is 740 English, 620 Math, and I am re studying everything to get a better score, also I don’t need a slam dunk, I just need to get in, (this isn’t like a desperation thing or anything, I have other safety schools, this is just up there for me)

They got into Biomedical sciences as well

I have 13 AP classes and I dual credit class
