Can I get into A&M

The harder ones like AP phys, and AP chem, and Calc AB

Those are great details you left out. So many factors to consider
more than just 15% & 1360.

I’d take both ACT and SAT (again). Sounds like you’ve got everything else ready to go. Make sure your tour of A&M is ‘official’-you sign up/register, not just show up and walk around.

Good luck!

So does that mean that I have a good chance

My class rank isn’t too low

Hopefully! I’d still test prep and really try to get that SAT at least in the 1400s.
Ask a teacher, or hire someone, to edit/review your essays & application-always best to get a 2nd set of eyes to proofread.
Good luck!

No one can rate your chances with A&M but you can get great merit with your stats at many OOS schools if not A&M.

Say I tell you that you have a great chance. But I’m not an AO. It means nothing.

Put your best app out. Find safeties you love.

And move on. This obsession isn’t healthy.

This is my safety school, I was just wondering

What is your safety. A&M ?

Hmmm.

Find another safety.

If you are not auto admit it is not a safety.

Not a safety. Not even a match. A reach for you if not auto-admit.

Just adding the more I think about it - the thread is about - can I get into A&M?

A safety is somewhere you know you are getting into and can afford.

You are pushing back when people tell you that you can, but it’s unlikely or will be difficult or whatever everyone says.

Then you say it’s a safety - which ostensibly runs counter to having a chat about - Can I?

You’ve already decided not only can you, but you will?

If you want true feedback, take it to heart.

If you’re assured of A&M, then that’s all you need to apply to - and I hope we don’t get one of those - I got turned down everywhere threads in a year (but if we do, you’d still have options).

Good luck.

I don’t know what you are talking about, no offense but A lot of people get in every year that are -respectfully -worse than me academically so

Respectfully, nothing you have shared here comes close to classifying A&M as a safety for you.

You’ve commented a lot of “I heard”, “someone told me”
please share with us where you are getting your information. Link to the TAMU CDS or class profile. Tell us what you see on your school’s Naviance (or similar resource) for the outcomes of student’s with similar stats.

Please don’t get defensive. We want to help you and give as accurate information as possible with what you have given us to work with. If the CC hive does not see TAMU as a safety for you (as you believe), would you like other suggestions of true safeties?

I don’t have a naviance software or something like it, but I said safety because I have a good chance not guaranteed admission sorry about offending you guys

You are not offending.

We want to ensure you have a college to attend.

It’s the opinion of those who responded, right or wrong, that A&M is not a definite. And you need to make sure you apply to a definite as well.

Good luck.

Also I know that my stats might not be great roycroftmom but A&M is considered a target for me from what I have heard from others in CC

but you said a safety. A safety and a target are two different things.

So how about a safety.

You’re a Texas resident. Are you open to OOS? Do you have cost restrictions?

Don’t forget, we are giving opinions - and whether you agree or disagree, @roycroftmom thinks it’s a reach because you don’t have auto admit. Just like you listen to others who say it’s a target, she says it’s not. It’s all opinion. The only one who knows is A&M admissions but you asked for guidance and it was provided.

Already, you are moving back from safety to target.

But let’s be honest - if it was a safety (in your mind), you wouldn’t have asked the question.

But now you continue to push back on people that gave you their opinion.

They may be right. They may be wrong. You may be right. You may be wrong.

But again - since you now say it’s a target, what is your safety? Your safety is THE MOST IMPORTANT school on your list.

first of all sorry for the confusion on the safety vs. target thing collegevine said that I have a 95% chance of getting in and that I was a safety.I was pretty sure that was accurate(I know that shifts for majors and essays, and LORs and stuff), I just wanted to make sure that was accurate, and see what other people thought and I was clarifying among others that might have a different viewpoint, most of the people I talked to like admissions counselors and peers said that I have a good shot of getting into Biochem, but you guys are giving me radically different answers, do you know of people who have similar stats that didn’t get into Biochem? also my safety is UTD

I think we just had differing definitions of what target and safety were my apologies

Akhil, I’m not sure how many times you’re going to ask people’s opinions. You and I have spoken on this on the thread and privately. You need to get your 1360 score into the mid 1400s for bims. It’s a very small and competitive major. It’s also a very hard major. Many who start off in it, end up changing after freshman year.

Have a backup major and school.
Many ways to get into med school. Just need some prereqs not a specific degree.

You know what Reddit and quota were right this place is filled with ■■■■■■ and elitists that have outdated or wrong information this place is so toxic and wrong this the only place where people have wrong viewpoints compared to everyone else, and all you do is scare people by telling them lies, so much lying and toxicity on here. I am already admitted to A&M with a 1260 SAT into the biomed major and so have a lot of people so stop putting random crap information here when all people really want is to get to their college
