So just a little back story, right now I am a junior at the University of Maryland majoring in mechanical engineering. I've had a few different internships (NIH, Computer Sciences Corporation) and I've realized that engineering is not for me. One of the draws of the degree was good pay and interesting work. So far, neither of those seem to be true, at least in my case. So I've decided to stick it out, work for a large engineering company for a few years, then go back and get an MBA and move into either consulting or banking (assuming of course I can get into a top program). I want some idea of the chances I would have at a top program, one which would allow a transition to banking or consulting. With these stats, assuming I apply to a good number of top programs, is it reasonable that I would be able to get into at least one?
Thanks for the advice!

From what I’ve gathered MBA programs are really interested in your leadership experience in college. They really want strong leaders who were presidents in their organizations and such. So just basing it off of GPA and GMAT is a bit difficult.

I’m not too sure which schools your looking at but Harvard’s admissions this last year had an average GPA of 3.78 and a GMAT of 740, so your a little bit low on those but I doubt they prevent you from getting in if you had strong leadership.
