Can I get into a UC or Cal State with a D?

<p>Hi I got a D first semester of sophomore year in my AP world class and I don't know if colleges accept that. My overall GPA so far is a 3.85 and I am entering my senior year in high-school. My other grades consits of A's and B's. I also have been involved in various non-academic activities and have held a few leadership positions, along with a sport. I don't know what to do, could someone please help?!?!</p>

<p>I think that a D in a A-G class is not acceptable for a UC. You will need to retake that class or take another class to satisfy the A-G requirement for history.</p>

<p>Ucbalumnus : Wait so senior year I’m taking a semester of Ap gov and the 2nd semester I’m taking AP economics. Does thar cover the requirements because Junior year I took AP US and passed both semesters with a B</p>

<p>Looks like you are ok for CSU but not UC. Both require two years of history and social studies, with one year being US history or US history and government, but UC requires the second year to be world history, cultures, and geography, while CSU allows any social studies for the second year.</p>

<p>For UC, you need to take another semester (or repeat the course you got a D in) of world history, cultures, and geography, unless somehow AP economics counts.</p>
