I'm really pushing it.
I didn't really have a reason to go to college before late in my sophomore year, so I really didn't try, and it shows. Severely.

*Junior Year:
Algebra II: A/A
AP Language/Composition: A-/A
AP U.S. History: A-/A-
Ceramics: B-/B-
Chemistry: A-/A
Spanish II: A-/A
Tutoring: A/A

I'm currently in my junior year, so the second grades are what I have right now. I'm working really hard to bring my Ceramics grade up to an A, and I'll be taking my first SAT tests in May, which I've been studying for on a daily basis. I'm pretty lacking in ECs, but I've started volunteering, I'm waiting to hear back from a job interview, I just joined CSF this semester, and I might be able to help in Guatemala over the summer if I can get a sponsor. For my senior year, I plan to take AP Bio, AP Lit, Physics, Pre-Calc, Spanish III, Government/Economy, and Advanced Drama.

Also, do I have to make up the two Ds from my freshman year, since they're not calculated into my GPA? And do I have a chance at all? I really messed up, but I'm sincerely trying my hardest now. So, do I have a shot at a UC? And what else can I do to bring those chances up?

The D in a semester of English freshman year will be a problem (at both UC and CSU) unless you can complete another semester of UC certified ( http://doorways.ucop.edu ) English before graduation. However, there may be other means of covering the requirement with test scores or community college courses.

If you complete the next level of math (precalculus and trigonometry) with C or higher grades, that will validate the geometry that you got a D in. The requirement can also be covered by other means like test scores.

Of course, this is just for minimum eligibility for UC or CSU. Whether you will actually be admitted depends on your grades, test scores, and other criteria.

I’ll be taking an online course at BYU to fix my English grade as soon as I save enough money, and I should have enough by the time school starts.

I come from a relatively small school, but it’s the best one in our county.
Class rankings aren’t yet available.

AP US History: 4
AP Language and Composition: 4

I plan to either retake my SAT or take the ACT in the fall–I’ll probably do the latter, because I think I can get a relatively high score on the ACT.

My final grades for junior year were:

Algebra II: A/B (The second semester grade should get bumped up after state testing results arrive in August)
AP Language/Composition: A-/A
AP U.S. History: A-/A-
Ceramics: B-/B-
Chemistry: A-/A
Spanish II: A-/A
Tutoring: A/A

I really like Davis.
Do you think I’d have a chance there?
