I am currently a sophomore. I am part of the math and science club. I am a tournament chess player. Freshman year, I took all honors, doubled up in Bio honors and Chem honors, and took honors Precalculus. I completed freshman year with a 3.51 GPA (4.11 weighted). I am currently taking the last year of math in my high school (Multivariable Calculus), having skipped AP Calculus over the summer. I am also concurrently taking AP Biology and honors Physics. I am going to do track once the season starts. I am in a fiercely competitive high school. I got a 770 on the SAT II Math IC and an 800 on the IIC. I also got 800's on the SAT 2 Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English Literature tests. I got 5's on the AP Chemistry, Calculus BC, Physics C, Language Arts, Literature, United States History, and French examinations. I have yet to take the AP Biology exam. I got a 2200 on the SAT and a 32 on the ACT when I took the tests in the 8th grade. However, I retook both in the 10th grade and got a 35 on the ACT and a 2340 ont the SAT.Can I get into a good school? What can I do to improve my chances?

Keep up the good work and you can get into a good school, for sure.
The 8 Ivy League schools are tough for everyone but there are many great alternatives.

To improve your chances, raise your GPA. If you want a shot at Harvard, Yale or Princeton, also try to develop a little breadth. Try to do something a little unusual to help them imagine you as a future Master of the Universe who will cure cancer, eliminate poverty, or at least donate $100 mill or so for a new building in 20 years.

If that sounds daunting, embrace your inner nerd and aim for schools like CalTech, Harvey Mudd, or the University of Chicago. Your state’s public honors college should be an excellent, reliable back-up if your can raise that GPA a bit.

As tk21769 says, raise your gpa a bit and work on developing a breadth of ECs. Also, work on depth by committing your time and energy to a few skills, talents, and passions that will differentiate you from your peers.

In addition to the ivies, you might want to embrace your inner nerd and aim for Stanford, MIT, WUSTL, Northwestern, JHU, and any number of top liberal arts colleges. Best of luck!

Is this a serious question? 2340 early SAT1, three 800s on SAT2s, 35 ACT, a good (though not impressive) GPA and heavy courseload. Yes - you have a shot…
However, your ECs are generic and not that outstanding for IVY. What is your passion? Get involved in what you love! An write amazing essays and you’ll probably get into a couple Ivies!
