I always wanted to be a journalist but I know it's tough to do. If I see myself three or so years after graduation from undergrad and not being able to do well in journalism, could I go back and get an MBA? Also I may be a business minor or double major. I just wouldnt have any work experience in business though.

IF you want to do journalism, show passion. Talk to people in the area and demonstrate a lot of passion and drive. That’s all you need. You don’t need a degree to tell you to do something. One of the important things I got out of college.

I know but I want to know if journalism turns of not to be the path, could I get an MBA with no business background in work experience

Yes an MBA do not need a business related undergrad.

Or any background in business? I would be writing and anchoring and then trying to get an MBA. Also is it hard to get into a night school part time MBA? Is it different than getting into a full time MBA?

It is good to have a 'back-up plan(s), but it seems to me like you need to first identify whether you actually want to work in journalism. Do some research on it and get involved on campus with relevant activities and organizations. Planning on getting an MBA in case your initial career doesn’t pan out doesn’t quite make sense, because you will need to be able to demonstrate some degree of success and knowledge in your field to get into an MBA program.

I know it isn’t a sure fire plan, but with a marketing degree along with a journalism degree and work in the field for a years could I get into an average MBA Program? If the money in journalism isn’t fitting my needs and i need a backup plan at say 25 or so, could an MBA be that back up?
