Well here is the deal: I am a Cuban immigrant that has been here only for eleven moths. This year has been hell, I had to adapt to a new educational system, a new language and another changes trough the year. When I started the school year 2014-2015 (my first school year in the US), the school enrolled me as a sophomore because they messed up my transcripts, after I went to complain they said they needed the County’s decision about what grade had to be in. After three months they switched me to eleventh grade. It was a hard change, all my core classes were switched and I had to study by myself the three months that I’d miss.
I’m better now, very stressed though. My goal has always been going to a good college, and I need to know if I have any chance of getting into one of these colleges:
University of Florida
NYU
UCLA
Syracuse
USC
UPenn
Yale
Carnegie Mellon
My unweighted GPA is 3.99 and my weighted is 4.33
I am an officer at the school’s Spanish Club and Spanish Honor Society. I’m also in Color Guard. Next year I’ll be at NHS.
This year my classes were: English III Honors, Algebra II, US History Honors, Chemistry Honors, Spanish Language AICE and Divinity AICE.
During summer I’ll be doing dual enrollment in the community college (Sociology and Psychology) and Pre Cal online. Also I will be volunteering at a local orphanage.
My classes for next year are AP Calculus AB, AP Government, AP Macroeconomics, AP Spanish Literature, Marine Science AS AICE, Photography AS AICE and English Literature A AICE.
In my senior year I’ll be directing at the Spanish Club and Spanish Honor Society. Also I’ve been thinking about one of the next projects: re-opening the school drama club, opening a feminist club or a book club.
****PS: AICE is an equivalent to AP/IB but with Cambridge University at the UK
I still don’t have test scores, I’m taking my SAT next week.
Well that is it. Thanks for reading and all honest feedback is welcome.
