Can I get into any top 50 schools?

Male. Washington DC. Private Highschool

GPA UW 3.0
AP Classes ( APUSH, AP Spanish, AP Lang Comp, AP Lit, AP BC Calc, AP Bio, AP Gov)
Sat Score-2250 (780verbal, 760math, 710writing)
Standard EC's nothing amazing
Good Teacher Recs
School doesn't rank.

Sorry but no. Your gpa should be at least a 3.6 with a fantastic test score. You should be considering elsewhere.

^ HAHAHAHAHAHA YOU’RE SO FUNNY.

But to 2in2out, How tough is your high school? Is it known to be challenging? Where do you think would you be ranked if the school ranked? It might help. And that SAT score is god level so you’ve been either bombarded with that work or you’re a lazy bum.

I think you could get into the lower top 50’s. Don’t worry, I’ve heard anything 3.0+ will get you into a good college. What are you looking into?

I’m not sure what I want to study as of right now. I’m currently looking into state universities so I can reap the benefits of the DC Tag program, but I’m open to anything and financials are not an issue.

I’m also an Eagle Scout if that means anything and I believe my essay will be relatively good.

Also, I’m aware that I should not choose a school because of its rank.

What do you guys think my chances would be at
University of Michigan(High Reach)
UMD College Park(Reach)
Penn State(Reach)

Are my assumptions correct?

Well I’m still waiting for you to answer my question because that could change the whole picture, but to answer your last post…

I just checked my school’s Naviance and checked how you stacked up. Based on what I saw Penn State and Maryland’s not a big deal (so decent chances). But for Michigan I didn’t even need to check because their admissions are unpredictable now… good luck, it’s getting hard to get in now.

My bad. Yes my school is known to be extremely competitive and difficult, but I have also been known to not always work my hardest. The 3.0 gpa maybe 3.1 now is due to those reasons, a bad freshman year, and 4 C’s in required Latin classes.

My teacher recs will vouch for me, my potential, and say that I have matured and am now working towards my potential. (I have already spoken with the teachers)
-had them both for multiple years. Received A’s in their classes.

Check with other students with similar GPAs and see how their college applications have turned out, that’ll give you a better idea. But I think you’ll get into a couple of top 50 schools if your HS is that rigorous.
