Yes, because uc’s only use 10-11 grades.

if you have a good application. I do not see why. Grades aren’t the only factor in a college admission decision.

Do they really just look at 10 and 11

For calculating your GPA, UCs only look at your college prep (a-g) courses from 10&11th grades.

UC GPA, however is just one factor. Your freshman year performance can weigh among factors like class rank, number of and performance in honors/AP classes. Here’s what the UC system as a whole considers. Most campuses have a longer list which can be found at the links on the right edge of that page.

Most CSUs look only at 10&11. Cal Poly SLO is the only exception - including 9th grade.

so ncal lets say i get 2.3 freshman year. Then I get a 3.2 sophomore and junior year. Will i be able to get into a uc?

^^^ more likely the less selective UCs but having a 2.3 is really low for a gpa. if you had a pretty good reason for it being low colleges will take that into account but if you just slacked off then that is another matter. But the fact that you got you act together after that would be looked at fondly.

You are going to need a 3.75 + and 1800+ SAT to be considered for most UCs.

The average Freshman admitted to UC Davis had a GPA of 4.03 and 1901 SAT last year. Berkely and LA were much higher than that. Even Merced had an average of 3.57.

The links on the right side of the page will show you profile for each of the UCs. The UC system targets the top 9% of CA high school students. Given all the AP points out there, a 3.2 GPA won’t get you there.

UC’s typically prefer GPA’s of 3.5+, while CSU’s look for students with a 3.0+. Each UC does have different criteria for choosing applicants. You may be accepted at one UC but rejected at another UC. I would say that UCLA and UC Berkeley are the most selective UC’s.

No, because out of state students need at least a 3.4 GPA. If you have enough AP courses to add up to 8 semesters of +1 points, then a 3.2 unweighted may become a 3.5 or so GPA for UC purposes. But that is still rather low for most campuses – even Merced’s average GPA for admitted students is 3.57.
