Can I get into AP without a prior year of regular/honors?

Hi, I'm currently a sophomore and I've just moved in from Korea a while ago,

I wish to take AP physics&chem for my junior year; but my science teacher says that
I need to take a prior year of chemistry/physics before taking the aps;
and there's been no special circumstences so far he's been in this school.."(
(our school's typically censorious in raising to higher classes and they don't count summer school as a full year either;;;)
and since our school is one of those schools where physical science is a requirement
i am now taking physical science enriched and biology as a sophomore.
although way below my goal, i got B+ in phy sci enrched and A in biology
but considering i'm a foreign student(lived in Utah for 2yrs few yrs ago) and i need some time to adjust, i hope that could be tolerated...
I wish to major in math/science area; and my science individual subject ratings back there were 1or 15 out of 480 students-ish...
and I did go to academies and have had physics(all)&chem;

ok, so here's the thing.
requirements for honors is average B+;(since it's enriched)
but if I get A+(at least an A)in phy sci and A+in bio
would i be able to appeal to get into ap phy &chem?
(p.s. i'm taking alg&trig honors now but score 800 in SAT 2c...hope that helps :P)

OR, can you please inform me what summer courses are there... that counts as a full year?
(also how to apply for cty)

thank you, and sorry for asking too many questions.
best of lucks.

*** bro, i have an A in Calc AB and i got a 700 on the SATI Math

Each school sets its own policy for AP prerequisites, but almost all schools will require a year of a science before you can take AP. If you think you’re ready for AP chem without taking chemistry and the teacher says no, ask if you can take last year’s chemistry final exam to show that you already have a solid understanding of the material. But if the teacher and the principal say no, there’s not a lot you can do without appealing to the school board.

*** bro, I have an A in Physics C Mechanics and it’s my first physics class ever. I’ll probably get a 4 or 5 on the exam. Appeal to get in.
Also, I’m acing AP Calculus AB with only a 34 on the math section of the ACT. I think you’ll do fine in your quantitative classes, lol.

Your only option would be to self-study for the AP exam and take it in May.
It won’t appear on your transcript but you can still include your score in your college application.
Ask your counselor about this option. If you are willing to work at it, you can do it.
