Can I Get Into AU?

ACT: 29

GPA: 3.5/4 (unweighted; 6 AP classes and a couple Honors classes)

Activities: Debate (I am one of the top 100 debaters in the country), Future Business Leaders of America (qualified to the National Leadership Conference twice), Tennis, Gay-Straight Alliance (Founder and President), Raising Student Voice and Participation (I am a member on the Lead Team; RSVP is an organization that asks students what they want changed about the school and we negotiate with the administration)

I plan to study political science and possibly major in economics as well.

I believe so but your chances reduce as you get closer to regular decision. The university seems to focus on bright kids who really want to go to school there. If your grades and scores aren’t the greatest then you really need to focus on your essays. Also, if you really want to go there then I would suggest ED2, if that is still available.

The university is considered selective with a 42% acceptance rate. We have been told, your chances are better if you apply early decision. Good luck!
