Thunder --The BInghamton SOM is not even mentioned in any list of TOp 100 best business programs, undergraduate or graduate -- With her stats, she should aim higher. Go onto www.studentsview.com for others' opinions about Bing.

Thanks. She is looking into some other schools as well. Thanks for the link.

Thunder, I just got in as an out of stater, with a 1200 combined old SAT, my hs is #1 in illinois, and ive got a 4.7 gpa. Ur daughter should hvae no problem getting in. I have heard rumors that oos get a lot more consideration then instaters, so that might be what got me in. Otherwise, im concerned about how low bing rankes and some reviews i have heard about it. if u know anything positive about the business school, let me know, it would offer some relief to the horrible feeling i have alread. waht other schools is ur daughter applying!?

Congratulations! I sent you a PM! :)

is 590 verbal, 600 math, and 580 writing too low by binghamton's standards, I know based on their average sat it's low, but with extra school stuff, and community service is it do-able?

cpassarell, It is doable also depending on your gpa. You should go by the averages, but I do know someone who got in with an 1150 old sat, but had a 4.0 gpa (small private school). She is out of state. I heard that there was a push to increase the number of their out of state students (don't have the facts to know how true this is).

hmm how low is your gpa? i got in but my gpa was pretty low.. like a 2.6 ish. but thats due to a 2.0 in soph yeah and a 3.3 in jr year. on my sats i got a 1310 (1940), i took all honors & only 2 aps and not that many ec and i'm oos, and i too have heard that bing is lenient to oos students..

ok so besides the point i think colleges like improvement, so maybe if you do well your sr year 1st semester you have a good chance.
apply early action, if you don't egt in ea try reg with your good 1st sem grades! haha and try to get good recs i got really good recommendations... i think? haha. good luck!

I have a 91.5-92 average, and I take ap's and advanced college enrollment courses with my area community college. By college I should have 40 credit hours, will that factor in at all?

are u out of state?

Im in state

dude, you're fiiiiine. you're gpa is sooo much higher than mine.

i was so scared i wasnt going to get into bing, i had a 1250 on sats, 93 (unweighted) 97 (weighted) gpa, only 2 ap courses that i was taking senior year, good amount of ec and community service.....and i got in! lol so dont go crzy about it, be a little above average and your in

anyone know about a cc student from cali transfering into their management school with say a 3.3-3.5 and lots of W's but with valid reason?

I will be emailing the cali rep tomorrow for admissions but thought i must as well ask here as well
