Hi! I will be an 8th grader in the fall, and I am highly considering boarding school. I really love writing, which draws me towards Interlochen Arts Academy. My grades aren’t superb, but they aren’t terrible. I maintain good test scores, am involved in many extracurricular activities, am taking advanced algebra, accepted into a college readiness program, have been published in local anthologies, work and study hard, have attended a “College for Kids”, won a $1,000 scholarship, and I have received many awards. My biggest strengths are writing and reading, but I am strong when it comes to math as well. I’m taking French, and I took Spanish with good grades. I am good at computers and technology class. My worst subject is science (I once got an F equivalent), but I plan to study harder and improve. If not Interlochen, I am leaning towards Wayland Academy. For any of you who have advice for me, please respond.
IAA has a great writing program. The best advice is to give them a call. My D is a music graduate. The admissions staff is super nice and helpful. Good luck.
