I’m currently a junior in high school, but will have to start applying to colleges in the upcoming fall.
My GPA is currently a 3.98 after the first semester (hopefully will be back up to a 4.0 by the end of the year). I got a 29 on my first ACT, and a 30 on the second.
I’m taking two AP classes, US History and Physics, but am not too sure how I’ll do on the AP exams.
I’m in the National, Math, World Language, and Art Honors Societies (possibly English and Social Studies, too).
I do community service, and will be an officer in several clubs next year. I also have several teachers that I can ask for letters of recommendation.
Do you think I can get into BU with the scores/grades I have already? Or should I try to increase my ACT scores and overall GPA. Also, if I don’t do well on my AP’s, will that get factored into my application? Or can I choose not to send them?
Thank you!!
PLEASE

bump!!
The BU CDS states the average admitted GPA in 15-16 was 3.61.
With your GPA and test scores, you’re well within their range. You seem to have a pretty good chance based on those things. Good luck.
As an up-and-coming BU Honors College freshman (class of 2020), I would say that your chances are pretty good; however, you should probably address the ACT score, as this may prove to be in your disfavor when you’re applying and competing with otter applicants (BU has been getting more competitive every year; this was their most competitive year to date). Also, your AP scores are primarily used to determine your placement if you are accepted, so I wouldn’t worry about how these scores will reflect your application (unless they’re completely abysmal). Good luck
