Brown does not seem like a fit for you concorde1969.

For all who believe that great stats and ECs mean you will get into that one school, a reality check:

1- A great profile is required but not definitive; what that means is that you are in the mix for That One School with 2340s and the like, but those kinds of stats - and ECs - will not ensure that you get in.

2-That’s because there are so many talented and accomplished kids applying to the small number of slots for first years at ther HYPed schools that those schools routinely turn down loads of sterling applicants.

3- e.g., Brown, which says no to 80% of valedictorians, 70% of those with 36s on the ACT, and 80% of those with 800s on the Math portion of the SAT:

4- so if you like Brown . . . look at other what other schools are similar academically and socially (e.g., no breadth requirements, little Greek influence, medium sized, urban, etc)

5 - All that said . . if you like a school a lot by all means apply, but check out both the admitted students stats and the NOT ADMITTED students stats to get a better sense of your chances.

Good luck!!!

Yeah, I pretty much agree with the posts above. Your stats are incredible and obviously good enough, but they won’t get you in. The fact of the matter is that tops schools are looking for outstanding people, not outstanding test-taking robots, which - I’m sorry if I offend you by saying this - you sound like you are.

Stop killing yourself with so much schoolwork and be a damn teenager man. Get involved with extracurriculars and do something positive in your community. It’s about being a smart, high scoring, well-rounded, passionate person, not just being smart and high scoring.

If those really are your stats (which, sorry I am having trouble believing because they’re so absurd and ■■■■■■ are so common), then congrats. You have plenty of time to do great things in high school EC-wise. Good luck.
