Thank you and please let me know your opinions negative or positive!

It looks like your school has a pronounced grade inflation problem. Would you mind posting your class rank and SAT scores? Otherwise there is nothing to go on.

PS-joining every club in the school doesn’t look good. Pick one thing that you actually like and do it.

gameofthrones1, Hi! Thanks for your quick response. I would send in my ACT score of 33 and my class rank is 3rd out of 350 kids. And to be honest I actually do like everything I do and being involved but I can see how it looks like I am looking like I am doing everything just to get into a good college. Maybe I will leave some clubs out of my application. Also forget about my weighted average I calculated that on my own. Thanks again!

Thanks so much superintern! I’ll definitely run for some leadership positions in my EC’s at the end of this year.

Being ranked 3rd with an ACT score of 33 makes me feel that its a high match.

Driven, sorry to be blunt but…you are going about this in the wrong way! Don’t ask about getting into Brown – ask about getting into a college LIKE Brown. There is no one perfect school and your chances of getting into Brown (like anyone’s) are less than ten percent. So…make a list which includes Brown. Figure out what it is that you love so much about Brown and look for similar schools. Especially focus on schools with higher acceptance rates. Once you identify what you are looking for it will be easy to make a list, and again, sorry but as a junior you had better get a list going. Is it academic freedom you crave? If so, Vassar or Hamilton? If you are a woman, Smith also has an open curriculum. Is it the liberal environment you like? The arts? Maybe Connecticut College? Is money an issue? SUNY New Paltz? You get my point.

Do you have someone to help you? Keep in touch with CC – there are folks here with years of experience. Read college books and see what overlap schools are suggested. Good luck!

His chance is much better than that of the average applicant.

@momcinco um he/she stated her dream college is brown, so why would she apply to colleges LIKE brown… whatever that means… Your post was totally unecessary…

It was factually inaccurate and rude.

Thanks for the reply gameofthrones1 high match sounds good to me! momcinco, thank you for your advice. I do have a list of schools like Brown but Brown is my number one. This is why I thought to ask about it. Open enrollment is not a necessity but I do like the idea of it, I just love the feel of Brown’s campus and the great academics. Another thing about Brown is the generous financial aid packages they offer. If you have any suggestions of other schools to look at that you think I may have a chance of getting into let me know. Thanks!

Error in my post, not open enrollment open curriculum.

I’m applying to Brown as well Driven, but for transfer admission! It looks like a great school, and it is one of my top choices.

Hopefully we both get in gameofthrones1!

Goodluck to you both =D Driven I think your chance is High match/Low reach since the standards in that school is very high and has an extremely low accepted rate, but don’t lose hope!! Can I get a chance back ? =/ http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1463091-chances-getting-njit.html

will any of you bother to see this thread???

Can I get into any of these universities???

Thank you Shipsarecool! Also everyone, my intended major is ChemE. Can you also rate my chances at Cornell, University of Chicago, Notre Dame, Duke and Vanderbilt? That is my list as of now.
