I am a student from CA, and cal poly Pomona is my first choice.
now my overall GPA is 2.95, A-G is 2.81 and just took my SAT last Saturday, still waiting for my score.
I came to America about five years, and my GPA is low because i didn't do well in english classes. but i took AP CALCULUS last year, and AP STATS now. my math is pretty good. so, what's the chance that i can get into CAL POLY POMONA?
also,... i want to major in accounting.

elayn319, a lot will depend on your SAT scores and what major you are applying to. Please check the forum marked ‘colleges’…go to alphabetical list and go to “C” section. You will find CPP in there, and a new list of what the impacted majors are at CPP…I would stay away from declaring any of those majors on your application as your GPA is on the lower side.

Good luck!

yes, I’m waiting for my scores… i did some research on CPP, and find out that accounting is not a impact major, is that going to help me ?

I have two questions about applying to CSU. if i got a D in my Ap Calculus class, do i count it as a 1 point GPA or 2 point GPA? and another question is that if i got a D in history class but i got an A during summer makeup, do i still count that D or i can ignore it.

usually a lower grade is replaced, non impacted majors dont really need super high gpas

what do you mean by that? do i just ignore the D that i earned in history?
