Can I get into Cal?

I plan to major in EECS. Here are my stats...

I'm an Asian male living in California and I am the first of my siblings to attend college

GPA: 4.35 (UC Weighted) 4.00 (UC non-weighted). I got a B in freshmen biology though...
SAT I: M:750 CR:660 W:690 Total: 2100
SAT II: Math IIC: 790 Physics: 730 Chemistry: 700
AP's: I took 3 AP's as a junior (chemistry, physics, art history) and I self-studied for calculus. The scores I got are: Chemistry: 5, Physic B: 5, Calculus AB: 5, Art History: 2 =(. For my senior year, I'm taking AP Lit and Comp, AP Calc BC, AP Stats, and AP German. This time I plan to self-study for physics C because my school doesn't offer it.
Rank: 32/550 (Top 6%)

ECs:
I'm involved in a lot of typical EC's as club as club member and stuff. The most notable ones are:
Vice President of Model United Nations
President of Physics Department in School Science Club
American Legion Boys State Nominee
Lead Singer of a High School Rock Band
Captain of Intermural Basketball Team
150 Community Service Hours as an Audio/Video Technician for a Children's Choir
Former Small Group Leader and Music Worship Leader at a Church Group

Should get in easily.

I hope so.. haha. Anyone else want to share their opinions?

I don't know if you'll get in "easily", Berkeley can be kinda weird, not admitting very qualified individuals. But I do definitely think you are Cal material and have a good shot at getting in.

I suppose, I had a friend from last year get into Harvard but was rejected from Cal.

That's exactly the kind of stuff I'm afraid of haha. Also, I just found out that I put an honor/award wrong on my application. Instead of "California Scholarship Federation" I put "California State Federation". Would they reject me because of this? I'm trying to contact them for some reason I can't find information anywhere.

try and contact them, but I would doubt they'd reject you because of it, especially if you went to the trouble of trying to contact them.

Would they think that I'm lying?

If they call you on it, just tell them that you were trying to get in touch with them for a while, that would let them know that you weren't purposefully decieving them.

yeah I will. I'm just afraid if they've already reviewed my application. Do you guys know when they start?

omg nobody can possibly be that high strung to think something so insignificant would hurt their app. dood seriously, chill....if you really freak on this it'd probably hurt your stats, the last thing an adcom wants is another highstrung EECS major who flips out on the most minute details.
sit back, turn in your other apps, let lose and have a relaxing senior year, that's what it's there for, you're gonna have to work harder in a year, so for now just sit back with a brew and a j and kick it with good friends!

your chances seem pretty good. would you happen to be pacific islander or other 'underrepresented' asian group? I know that there are many on campus hoping to bolster 'underrepresented asian' admissions.

Nopeee I'm the typical Taiwanese American

CallMeGoose,

Cal: Match

I think you are a match for Cal. As long as they don't bring back proposition 209, lol.

Huh? What's that again? (I forgot!)

i think gigante meant as long as they don't repeal proposition 209, because it is still in effect right now.

proposition 209 was the CA amendment to teh state constitution in 1996 which prohibited public places from discriminating according to race and gender (affirmative action cannot be used at UCs)

means there's a super majority of asians at most UC's,...well except UCSB and SC, i think
