Can I get into CMC and get a scholarship

I’m half black and half Asian (Taiwanese) (not sure whether im going to put both on the application or if im just going to put black but my common app essay is probably going to be about my mixed background anyways)
My GPA is 4.29 weighted and 3.73 unweighted. My SAT score is 2020 and I haven’t taken any SAT Subj tests or the ACT (not sure if I should take any of those tests or maybe retake the SAT?). Class rank is 25 out of 194. I’ve taken 5 APs and I’ve scored a 4 on all of them except one where I made a 3.
Can I get in with those stats?
Also, my household income is about 80K. Would CMC offer me any money or scholarship so that I wouldn’t have to pay over 10K each year?

I would call it an extreme reach. As for financial aid, you’ll get the aid you need if you’re admitted.

Check out the stats for ED and RD this year for some sobering information on those accepted and rejected.

Unless you have outstanding extra curricular activities, the school is a high reach. Your GPA, scores, and class rank all put you below the average admitted student.

My unweighted GPA is actually a 3.875. I made a mistake before with that 3.73 but idk if the difference matters

my extracurriculars are National Honor Society (Vice Pres), Beta Club, Chinese School, Medical Reserve Corps, Health Occupations Students of America (placed 2nd in regional and 4th in state competitions), American Red Cross, Volunteering (mostly with Methodist Hospital and Children’s Association for Maximum Potential and Teacher Assisting at Chinese School)
They’re sorta scattered and not consistent…Not exactly “outstanding” but it’s still something

and I’m retaking the SAT in Oct

is this still not enough? I was really hoping that I would get some leeway for being a minority to be honest

Why do you think you deserve some “leeway for being a minority?” Are you expecting to get a grade boost as well because of any special status? That’s a pretty ridiculous expectation, quite frankly. Now, if you have suffered in some way or are economically disadvantaged then of course that is a significant factor. From your short bio, it appears you’re a typical middle class kid. But hoping for something special to come your way from CMC admissions (or any other for that matter) just because of race if misguided and should not be your expectation.

Run the net price calculator on the CMC website to see how your aid might look. Don’t know if CMC offers much (if any) merit, but your stats don’t seem high enough to get any.

CMC does offer a few merit scholarships-a very precious few. This student is highly unlikely to be a candidate for them.
