Can I get into Columbia RD? Full stats here

It's clearly too late for me to ED to Columbia (also I EA'ed to Yale) but I am wondering.. can this mate from Virginia get into Columbia RD? I will set this up in the format of the Results thread to make it easier for you guys. If you could give me a specific percentage, that would be better/more convenient. Thanks in advance chaps!

Teacher Recommendation: one great, one probably complimentary but nothing stellar
Counselor Rec: good, she and i are pretty close friends

Weaknesses: SAT 2's, maybe essays in comparison to some of the applicants from my school, rank

No one can say for sure what your chances are. But clearly, you have an edge here. 2360 SAT? Top 1.5% of a 1000 student class? Impressive stuff, my friend. Best of luck to you.

You academically pwn and I’m pretty sure your e.c can pull you through. I don’t think SAT 2 scores will really hurt you, and besides, your scores aren’t THAT bad, lol. Good luck!!! :D

bumpbumpbump

what if my essays are like mediocre? they definitely aren’t bad but i don’t know if they’re “stellar”… will that put me in a really bad position or could my stats pull my through?

I’ve heard of many applicants with nearly perfect stats being rejected. Its hard to say for sure for Columbia, or any university for that matter, but I feel like the essays are a crucial part of the application process…just make them show the school who you are, and if they think you’re a good fit, you’re all good!
