Do you have something Columbia needs? Half the applicants have your grades and test scores (which are awesome) but Columbia only accepts 6%. Are you from an under represented state? Have a disability? Play an odd instrument? Are a URM? If you don’t have something extra that Columbia needs to get you over the line then your chances are very very low like everyone else applying (maybe 2% if you account for recruited athletes, URMs, legacy, applicants from Alaska or Somalia). Apply to more matches and backups that will see your high test scores as a major boost.
^^ Agreed. You’re in a hyper-competitive pool being an Asian male and you don’t have any EC’s or awards that will set you apart. Your weighted average also looks low. Maybe it’s just the way your school weights it’s classes. What is your class rank?
The scores and grades are fine. The ecs are the problem. If you applied early, I think you would be deferred, if regular, probably rejected or waitlisted. Apply to schools where your stats are far above the 75th percentile. You should have a decent shot there.
