Can I get into Columbia?

you guys are really helping me out, thank you all soo much!

denzera, you bring a great point. the digital camera was given to me a couple of years back, by a friend who didn’t need it anymore (its a really nice one!) and the trip to ghana is being paid for through some financial aid, some money my grandparents will be paying, and the rest i saved over the year as our situation got better (after soph year ended)
but again you bring a great point… and i’m not going to want to have to explain all of those details. do you think they won’t believe me or something? i mean, it does sound really suspicious… :(

EDIT: one more thing; i can’t contact the autistic family since moving away from california after soph year. they, too seem to have moved and everything. so it doesn’t look like ill be getting a Rec from the mom… is this a problem?

No they really won’t, unless your counsellor screws you and says that you’re making it up…or something. It’s not a big deal, you can toss in somewhere that the camera was given to you by a friend.

“they, too seem to have moved and everything. so it doesn’t look like ill be getting a Rec from the mom… is this a problem?”

No. You don’t have to get a recommendation from the mother. It seems like you have a close relationship with the family, but I’m not sure they’d warm to the idea of your using your experience with their child for college admissions…ya know? Perhaps it’s best not to contact them :)

you are amazing thank you!
