Can I get into CSE?

I want to major in Chemical Engineering.

3.65ish GPA (terrible Freshman year, fantastic Junior/Senior year), hopefully I'll be in the top 10%.

31 ACT. 30 English, 30 Math, 33 Science, 31 Reading, 11 Writing. Taking the SAT in the near future. Hope to do better on it then I did on the ACT (didn't study ;.;).

Asian Male

My ECS are weak. Phi Theta Kappa, National Honor Society, and Skills USA are all.

I've had a job and have some volunteer hours.

Currently PSEO, I'll have my AA degree by the end of this year.

Next semester I'll be taking Chemistry I, Physics, Calc, and an elective.

I've taken very little math and only Intro to Chemistry, as of now.

Also, when should I apply by? Should I retake the ACT (I'm sure I can do better)? I won't get my score back until late December.

competitive stats, worth a shot, just don’t mention you are asian on the app though

Hi rawrlolsauce,

I go to the U of M. was looking at CC for ratings on apartments and I stumbled on this post…are you from Austin? I think I know you. Message me or something.

To your question:

For sure you will get in! And the plumney1 is wrong, tell them you’re asian and don’t lie. The U of M has the best chemical engineering program in the entire USA this year. The honors program for CSE is very tough though, probably need a 34 on the ACT.

Retaking the ACT and taking the SAT isn’t entirely necessary but go ahead if you want to.
