Can I get into Duke?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and to reply. I'm looking to ED at Duke in the fall and to apply regularly to possibly Georgetown, Stanford, the Ivies, Johns Hopkins, and McGill if i don't get admitted to Duke. I'm hoping to also know my chances of getting into those schools.

I assume you are an Asian male.

Do you have permanent US residence?

non-permanent resident, thus making me a foreign student

btw forgot to add that i'm also in NHS

Non-permanent residence status is going to kill you. Your stats, as a US applicant made Duke a low reach, as an international it's a biiiiiig reach.

does it matter if i don't need any financial aid whatsoever?

NO. /* international */

I honestly don't see you getting in with those stats just because the international applicant pool is unbelievably strong.

You'd be a typical competitive applicant if you came from USA (nothing really stands out), but the fact that you are applying as an international with a top 10% ranking, average scores, and typical ECs, I don't see you getting in unless you are really able to define yourself past those stats

NHS doesn't mean anything. Many people have it who apply to top schools.

nhs is about on equal footing with "who's who"

thanks to all you naysayers :)
applied ed to duke and got accepted, suck on that.

congrats orientchigga!!

hahaha!!!! nice job orientchigga!!!!

Your post made me laugh!!!!

haha, nice man :)

That is somewhat ironic.
