Can I get into Emerson?

So, Emerson is my dream school, but I'm really stressed out about getting in.

My high school situation is a little weird.

First of all, I was hospitalized for a good portion of the year last year (second semester my Junior year) and now I have to make up the classes I missed.

I was in AP English, but didn't complete it, and now I have to take Honors English 3 this semester, and Honors English 4 second semester (we have a block schedule). I'm technically a junior this semester which really stinks. I've maintained a fairly high GPA thus far and I know I can keep it up, school isn't really difficult for me but my past illness has really set me back.

I want to major in creative writing (they have that literature, writing, and publishing major) and of all the schools I've looked at, Emerson looks amazing. It fits my personality.

I did 4 years at Duke Young Writer's Camp, I don't know if that helps. I have a large body of work, I don't know if that makes a difference either.

I know they look for people who have challenging academic schedules, and I don't really fit that.

My hardest classes this year are Honors Latin 4 and Honors Pyschology, which don't compare to AP, I guess.

I'm really worried. Just tell me if I'm likely to get in or not, if you can. I'm going to apply anyway, but I'm definitely not going to get my hopes up.

My biggest regret is that I left private school. I went to a private school for 11 years and switched my freshman year, I did this because I was diagnosed with a mental illness and they decided that I wouldn't be able to "keep up" academically (Even though I was still making A's).

I'm pretty sure that won't make a difference either.

Are you applying for entry in fall 2009 or fall 2010? What's your GPA? What are your test scores?

If you have solid grades and scores, I think you have a decent shot.

I'm applying for Fall 2009. I'm taking the SAT in a couple of months, but I've already taken it in 7th grade. I got a better score that most graduating seniors that year, so I'm not really worried about the SAT (which I have to take in January). Throughout school my verbal/writing scores have been in the top 99 percentile. My GPA right now is a 3.8.
