Can I get into Fordham?

I EAed to Fordham and I find out by Saturday of this week. I just want to see what my chances are before I see what they decided. It's my first choice and I would appreciate any help from anyone out there!

So here is a little about me.

Scores
I suck at the SATs. Math:490 CR:580 W:580. I took the subject tests Math 1: 510 Eng Lit: 580 Spanish: 490.

Again, any help will be appreciated. Thank you so much and Go Rams!

Well, if I were Fordham I would take you. Lol sorry that’s the best I can do! Good luck to you.

I’m also worried about Fordham and am terrified about receiving a decision this week. Due to a pretty rough freshman year, my GPA is no more than a 3.4/4. My SAT scores are pretty high; CR-600 Math-640 Writing-660. I didn’t have many extracurriculars but made it clear on my app that there is one particular EC that I do that takes up A LOT of my time… From what I hear, they are getting more and more selective, which is nerve-wracking and I am not expecting an acceptance (though I want one desperately). However, your stats seem sufficient enough and I am sending you good thoughts for this week!

I hate being the bearer of bad news, but you most likely will not get in Fordham. Having a score that starts with a “4” in SATs is an immediate red flag for an admissions officer, and your SAT II scores are around the 40th percentile.

I agree with Kradzzz. I also applied EA and we’re pretty similar. My SAT was R-630 W-660 and M- (gulp) 460. I don’t believe i’m getting in.

My GPA was 90.66 (had a 93.86 1st quarter senior year). I took AP world, AP lit, AP lang, AP US hist., AP Gov., and AP spanish. There were also some honors classes in there as well.

No AP/honors in math/science (shocker given my SAT math score, huh? LOL). I did apply as an English major.

My EC’s and recs are pretty good. fordham has become very selective. I visited the school twice and at one of the events the head of admissions said that SAT’s are weighed pretty heavily. They also don’t like students like me - “lopsided” when it comes to the SAT. And yes, seeing anything start with a “4” on one of the test sections is deadly in my opinion.

I also applied to some other catholic that were test optional and did not submit.

BTW, how does Fordham notify? email, letter, or is there some kind of website to go on to?

^ Ridiculous. You all need to remember that admission is not based solely on test scores. Yes, it puts you at a disadvantage, BUT it does not mean your chances are shot. The test scores definitely make your chances less predictable, so you should be prepared to keep applying. But these cases are far from hopeless.
