I am a current senior coming from a highly ranked high school on Long Island, that is very respected by colleges. I've actually moved 3 times within the tri-state area, so this is actually my third high school. Currently I have submitted my early decision application to GW and I also have had an interview at GW with a senior from admissions. I am nervous about my pending acceptance being that I just got back my SAT scores.

I have legacy at GW from my older brother, and my dad had a fellowship there (kinda like a post med school thing) so that also counts as legacy.

My personal statement and supplement essay are very respectable and should help in the process.

My gpa is a 3.34.

The only discrepancy that I have is over my test scores.

I have a 27 composite score on the ACT. to break it down it is: Eng: 24, Math: 27, Reading: 31 (I don't know how i pulled that off), Science: 26. I took the writing section, but the overall score i got was a 22 with a 6 on the essay...Is the essay/writing pertinent to GW? I have already submitted my ACT score.

I have taken the SAT 3 times, and my overall combined score is an 1860. However, that is the combined score of my last two tests.
Tests:
1: Cr: 490(I have no idea how this happened), Math: 660, Writing: 580 (essay:10) = 1730
2: Cr: 590(definitely an improvement), Math: 610, Writing:610 (essay:9) = 1810

So, Ive obviously done better on the SAT essay, but from what I've researched, both scores about middle 50% in GW's range, so it shouldn't make a difference if I send the SAT or not. I just dont want GW to see that 490 on critical reading, because that is horrible.

I interviewed with a senior while visiting my brother, and the interview went fine. I plan on sending the guy a thank you note today.

So does anyone have any insight on the possibility of me getting in?

Remember:
- Very good/respected high school
- Double legacy
- A little below avg GPA
- Avg test scores
- good college essays
- and I have made connections with many of admissions officers, such as Antoine Hart, Dorie Ain, and Dan Miller.

What do you think?
